We have an active school council at St. Saviour’s.
Two elected representatives from each class are newly elected annually and attend a weekly meeting every Thursday. Presently there are 18 councillors.
The whole school is encouraged to use the forum to discuss issues which arise in school. Although they don’t have a budget to work with the councillors do make significant differences to the way that the school is organised, making it a better place for all.
Two councillors represent the school at the Children’s Parliament each year. Councillors meet up with others from the authority to discuss opportunities for improving lives of young people in the locality.
School Council also has an annual charity event. This year their chosen charity was Cancer Research. They raised over £100!
