Dear Parents and Carers,

 

Weekly Round up - Infants

 

This week we have been around the world visiting different countries as part of our Refugee week and International day.

 

We went to Bulgaria, New Zealand, South Africa, Romania and India! Thank you to the grown up who came in and shared food and stories from their countries. Click here

 

Holly said, ‘My mum came in and we tried South African food. We had biscuits and crunchies. My favourite is the crunchies!

Murphy said, ‘In Romania we had a special kind of cake. It had jelly, chocolate and a crust of bread.

Elinor said, ‘In Bulgaria we tried a special yoghurt. Kit had cucumber, garlic, a type of bean, sunflower oil and water, It was spicy and yummy.

 

On Monday two of our Governors led a workshop for our Year 2 children on Diversity titled We all  Belong. Nathalie and Danielle were really impressed we how the children talked about inclusion. Click here

 

Eva said, ‘We might all need something different to be included because of how our brains work.

 

On Wednesday we had a visit from Shanze and Tia from Stand against Racist Incidents in Bristol. Children from years 1-6 had assembly exploring diversity with them and Year 5 did a workshop too. Even Paddington visited! Click here

 

It’s been an action-packed week! Thank you so much to Kamala for organising the week and to all staff for making the workshops so engaging. Everyone has really enjoyed it and we have all learned something new!

 

Next week is another packed week with Sports days for Reception and Years 1 and 2 and Come and Play sessions for September’s Reception children.
