School Update - COVID19

Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope this email finds you well and you are coping well and staying at home.

I am just emailing with some information, updates and changes we have implemented.

‘Lockdown’

Boris Johnson effectively put the country in lockdown yesterday evening. It is important that we balance our duty to offer Key Worker childcare (currently there is no change to this guidance) and follow Government guidance to social distance.

Therefore, we have made some changes to how we organise this.

Office hours

The School Offices have been closed from today. If you want to contact the school please use the school email addresses:

juniors@stsaviours.bwmat.org or infants@stsaviours.bwmat.org

All emails to the schools will be picked up and actioned remotely by the office team however there will be delays in the speed of response.

All calls to the Junior Office have now been redirected to the Infant Office, however these will not be checked regularly so we encourage you to email if you need to.

Key Workers Childcare

We remain open for child for Key Worker children and vulnerable children. However, we strongly advise you to keep your children at home if it’s safe to do so.

Gavin Williamson the Education Secretary stated over the weekend:

‘Help schools to focus on the children who need a place most, and keep your kids at home if you can. Stay at home, protect the NHS and save lives’

If you can keep your children at home you must do so. However, if you are a key worker vital to the country’s fight against COVID-19 and you have no other alternative but to send your child to school, we are here for you.

Families in this group can book places via Schoolcomms. Please click here, log in to the School Gateway and access the club called ‘Key Workers’ followed by the dates of the child care.  Please use this club booking facility to book places for your child(ren) for those days for which you need childcare. We are planning to continue childcare over Easter.

This booking system will be locked from midnight on Thursday each week for the following week’s bookings to give us time to organise staffing. If you want to cancel a place you need to email the schools.

Please do this as early as possible so we can plan and send home staff if they are not required.

Home Learning

A video helping you use the Home Learning page was uploaded to the school website on Monday.

It can also be watched here:

Please don’t put pressure on yourselves or your children to complete lots of work at home. Build a timetable that works for you and your family. It will be different to other families and that is fine. This is new to all of us and we are learning together.

Microsoft Teams

Please log in to Teams. You can do this via your desktop, a phone app or tablet.

We have published rules and information for the children to follow. Please read this with them and make sure they understand: click here

If you don’t have your Teams login, please email the appropriate school (email addresses below) and we can send it to you. You can message teachers directly and ask questions, a video to help you with Teams will be coming soon.

juniors@stsaviours.bwmat.org or infants@stsaviours.bwmat.org

Thank you for your continued support and please ‘Stay at home, protect the NHS and save lives!'

Best wishes

Mr Beament
