St Saviour's Church Schools

Weekly roundup Infants

Dear Parents and Carers

Weekly roundup – Infants

The week got off to a great start with the Year 1 and 2 Harvest Celebration at St Saviours Church.

The children led the celebration with harvest poems, some harvest prayers or reflections and filled the church with joyous singing and actions in true St Saviours style!

We had explored with the children feelings of thankfulness. Sophie said, ‘I am thankful for my friends and the teachers.’ Molly said, ‘I am grateful for my brother sharing things.’ Elliot said, ‘I am thankful for smooth and shiny conkers.’

The children then explored the concept of sharing and sharing with others who may not have as much as us. We explored the word charity and talked about collecting for Julian House. Kamal said, ‘This is like our Caring Code, we show we care!’

Reception have had great fun learning outdoors, looking for signs of Autumn and thinking about hedgehogs and how they hibernate. They took two hot water bottles to represent hedgehogs. They then left one out in the air and  wrapped one up and covered it in leaves. Otto said, 'The one left out got cold very quickly'. Francis said, 'The one we covered up is still nice and warm!' Leo said, 'Hedgehogs want to stay warm in the winter'. Click here for outdoor learning.

Polite reminder

Can I please remind you not to park on the yellow zigzag lines outside of school. We know it can get very busy at drop off and pick up and that it may sometimes feel frustrating, but the zigzag lines are there to keep everyone safe. Thank you for your support.
