Year 5 have been looking at the unit of Materials in Science. As part of this, they have explored the changes in materials. They looked at what we mean by the work 'dissolve'.        

Then Year 5 explored how this process can be sped up or slowed down using different strategies. They then used what they learned about dissolving sugar and salt to plan an investigation into dissolving jelly! 

As part of this they learnt to use the Scientific terms: solute, solvent, solution and saturate.
