Junior Weekly Roundup
Fri 26 Jan 2024Dear Parents and Carers,
Weekly Roundup Junior school
It’s been another great week at school.
OPAL play
This week, a few exciting things have been happening with our OPAL play. Staff training this week was focused on OPAL and the different types of play. Did you know there are 16 different play types including communication play, imaginative play and exploratory play? Teachers worked together to plan some exciting new resources and ideas for great play times over the next few months.
Miss Markwell led a play assembly this week, and re-introduced the table tennis bats and balls which were a huge success. Click here to see pictures of this, and here to see pictures of our junk modelling.
Olivia said, ‘OPAL play is fun as we get to use different types of equipment.? We have also got some new things to use, which is really fun. I love dancing to the music.’
Indie said, ‘I really enjoy OPAL as it brings fun to our break and lunch times.’
Poppy said, ‘OPAL play is great fun as it gives us the chance to do something different at playtimes such as, table tennis and playing with bubbles.’
We need your donations!
We are looking for old (but good condition) board games and dressing up costumes. If you are having a tidy and come across something you don’t use any more, please consider donating these items to us! Although we are getting a donation box for outside the car park gate, please drop these off at the Junior Office, as we wouldn’t want these items to be damaged by the weather.
Other news:
Please remember that the Junior Office is closed on a Monday afternoon. Should you need to speak with someone during these times or drop something off, please contact the Infant Office on 01225 310137. You are welcome to leave things at the Junior Office with the understanding that the area is not secure, and items left will likely be picked up the next day (unless we have received a message informing us something has been dropped off).
Don’t forget to subscribe to our online school calendar. Our calendar is the place where you can check for events, term dates and INSET days.
For a window into our school please follow us on social media. We regularly update our Twitter page and Facebook page
I hope you have a lovely weekend,
Best wishes,

Infant Weekly Roundup
Fri 26 Jan 2024Dear Parents and Carers
Weekly roundup Infant
It’s been another busy week!
Reception have been invaded by Dinosaurs! A surprising letter arrived in class along with a very large egg! The letter was from Andy from Dinosaur Adventures and asked the children to look after the special egg. It said, ‘I heard that you have been learning about dinosaurs and that you have a museum in your classroom. That sounds amazing! I found these eggs and thought that you might want to look after them. They are pretty special and are about to be put in a glass case in a museum.’
Iris said, ‘It has little black dots on it.’
Rowan said, ‘Its smooth’
Jenya said, ‘I think there’s a dinosaur in it.’
