St Saviour's Church Schools

A message from our SEND link Governor

I am Cam and I have been a school governor for a year. l am the SEND link governor which means I support Sara (the SEND coordinator for both schools) in her role and report areas related to SEND to the Governing Body. I was previously an SEND coordinator, a deputy head and have a diploma in SEND but there is always more to learn!

I have really enjoyed working with Sara and seeing how the school is responding to a wide range of wonderfully individual needs that make up our St Saviours Family. As our community changes and grows we love welcoming children with all ranges of abilities - we are all special at something and we enjoy finding out what our children can teach us.

This last year we have initiated a parent questionnaire, looked at ways to make our school information more accessible and we are working on trying to build closer relations with families. Recently the Trust conducted a SEND review of all we do; it was a great exercise in looking at and evaluating our practice, identifying areas we do well and those we want to continue to grow. We were commended on the experiences that all children have, particularly those with SEND and how well the teachers and adults support pupils, as well as our school focus on dyslexia.

We want to deepen the way we work with parents and families of those with SEND so if you’d like to be part of a working group, please email me Camilla.densmore@stsaviours.bwmat.org or Sara Hibbs at sara.hibbs@stsaviours.bwmat.org

I wish you a happy weekend!
