*Our phonics lessons are learning and practising new digraphs, in Units 8 and 9. However, your child may be reading books in a different Unit. Please do ask your teachers if you are unsure which level to be reading with your child!
*Please remember to have your whiteboard and pen ready at every Live Session, as we may use them in any session. It's also helpful to have a Jolly Phonic strip and a Number Line handy, in case you need them too!
Next week our story of the week will be The magic porridge pot.
We will be doing some capacity challenges in maths.
You will need porridge oats (or another breakfast cereal) for a capacity challenge on Tuesday.
Also please also save a variety of different containers for example milk bottles, tubs or yogurt pots.

**Also, Tuesday's live session will be a maths activity using penne pasta and string. If you can, please have some available for your child to use to join in, that would be great.
If not, you could have any similar threading. (shoe lace and beads/Cheerios?) or just objects for the sums if not. Thanks!
Jack and the Beanstalk - BBC animationIf you would like another version of Jack and the Beanstalk, this 14 part story has a more detailed animation, in 3 minute video clips, that your children may enjoy watching and discussing. So if you don't have a printer, you could either take photographs of the interesting things that you find, like they did to make the scavenger sheet, or take plain paper and tell your grown ups what they need to draw or write on their list of things that you have found!
