Weekly Roundup Term 5 Week 2

Dear Parents and Carers,

Weekly Round up and Key dates

What a wonderful sunny week we’ve had! It's been great seeing the children enjoying our outside spaces across the Infants and Juniors. It’s not supposed to be quite so hot next week but it was a good practise run at being Sun Safe bringing in water bottles, sunhats and sun screen. Can we please make sure that children’s footwear is appropriate and safe for school e.g. no crocs or sliders. Thank you

Opal Play at the Infants

The children have been enjoying their Opal play this week in the beautiful sunshine. They have been making dens, playing on the swings, making assault courses, playing with the small world toys, dressing up, riding bikes and scooters and much more.

I made a den and have been on the bikes. Felix Reception

We have made a pet shop with the small toys and some children were animals.  Mei-Lin Year 1

There was a parachute outside.  Dylan Year 1

I loved making a beach in the Willow Garden.  Maria A Year 2

I have been watering the plants because it has been hot, and they would be thirsty.  David Year 2

I like Opal play because there is lots to do and I can play with lots of different friends.  Alyssa Year 2

Clay Workshop

Year 3 and 4 took part in a workshop today with ceramicist Asha Uberoi. They thought about artefacts and the Legends of King Arthur. They sketched ideas and then created their artefacts in clay. Asha will now fire their work in a kiln before bringing it back to school for a decoration workshop.

When we were doing the clay. We could do things about King Arthur. I liked that. Marley

I liked all of the different tools we could use with the clay. Edward

We could make something linked to King Arthur and Excalibur and the Round Table. Grace

I liked carving into and drawing onto the clay and I could cut out my sword shape. Olive

We sketched out our drawing first so I knew what I was doing. I liked using the tools. They were really satisfying to use. Daisy
