Year 5/6: Mr Carter
Welcome to Lawrence Class' page!
Here you will find useful information, weekly spellings and photos of us at work!
Lawrence Class will have PE on Thursdays. Please can you come into school in your PE kit or sports wear that is weather suitable. Let us know if you need any help sorting this, we are sure we can help!
Please spend at least ten minutes practising your times tables and weekly spellings. Get an adult to sign your homework book when you have read aloud or independently. Try to do these activities as often as you can each week, remember the more you practise, the more Dojos you earn!
Year 5 - Tuesday 24th February, 2026 - Homework:
We are looking forward to seeing everyone's Viking Projects next week! Remember, you can start bring them in as soon as they're finished or Monday 2nd ready to share!
This week you have Maths Practise (Times-table Rockstars) and List 1 from the new Term 4 Spelling lists (spare spelling lists can be found on class pages on the website).
For your times-tables, you need to practise this on Times-table Rockstars when you log in, just select the Garage or Arena sections for the times-table that you are given by your teacher. Alternatively, if you would prefer to practise your tables in your Homework book, this would be fab too.
If you want to extend your Homework, have a go at one (or some) of the challenges on the extension sheet in your homework book.
Homework books will be collected in on: Monday 2nd March, 2026.
Year 5 and 6 Viking Project for Homework - Tuesday 10th February
For your homework project we would like you to research an aspect of Viking life. You could look at weapons, Viking gods, Viking houses and settlements, Viking longboats, Viking clothes and jewellery or the Viking invasion of Britain.
You can choose to create a PowerPoint presentation, a written booklet or create a model of one of the aspects you have researched with a factsheet to accompany it. We expect your work to be neatly presented whether it’s on the computer, on paper or a model. You are also free to use a collection of these methods if you wish!
We expect your work to be in your own words and not just copied directly from the internet. Think about enhancing your work with pictures, diagrams or maps.
You will need to bring your project to school by Monday 2nd March (Monday of T4 Week 2).
If it is a digital project, please feel free to email the school office at: juniors@stsaviours.bwmat.org and we collect it from there!
We would like everyone to share something. If you feel like this is not possible to complete at home then do let your teacher know so we can support you in school.
We look forward to seeing what you do for your projects!
