St Saviour's Church Schools

Children in Need and Christmas information

Children In Need (CiN)

This year, Children In Need is taking place on Friday 19th November. St Saviour’s children will be able to attend school in non-uniform and are welcome to wear CiN merchandise. We are asking for families to donate directly to CiN rather than via the school office. Donations can be made here: https://donate.bbcchildreninneed.co.uk/

Christmas Performances

This year we are hoping and planning for in person performances of our Year 3 Christmas Performance ‘Only One King’ and Key Stage 1 performances of ‘The Bossy King’ and Reception ‘A Little Nativity’.

Reception

Friday 10th December - 9:30am A Little Nativity (Infant Hall)

Key Stage 1

Tuesday 7th December - 9:30am The Bossy King (Infant Hall)

Thursday 9th December - 2:15pm The Bossy King (Infant Hall)

Year 3 Christmas Performance

Monday 6th December – 2pm (Junior School Hall)

Tuesday 7th December – 2pm (Junior School Hall)

Thursday 9th December – 9:45am (Junior School Hall)

To create an environment that is as safe as possible and comfortable for parents and carers we will be doing the following:

  • We will be performing each show with a reduced audience size and spaced-out seating
  • We will be videoing each performance so that families can watch the performance at home if they would prefer this or access the recording if in isolation or unable to attend (please note, these will be pre-recorded, not ‘live’ videos, uploaded to our YouTube channel after the event)
  • We will be running a ticket only entry and limiting tickets to two per family (information below)

As you are aware the COVID response has been unpredictable and there is always a chance that national or local policy will mean that our plans for in-person performances may have to be cancelled. It is also possible that we will make a decision to cancel some or all of the performances if we have high cases in one or both of our schools.

FREE tickets for the Key Stage 1 and Year 3 performances will be available on a first come first served basis (max two per family – toddlers and babies are welcome as well but will need to sit on parents or carers laps) from Thursday 18th November from 08:30am (please do not request tickets before this date).

In order to reserve your place visit, email or phone either office.Numbers for each performance will be restricted to 40so there are plenty of tickets for all our families.

Tickets for the Reception Performance will not be required, and you will not need to book. The hall will be organised in a way that will cater for 2 family members per Reception child (toddlers and babies are welcome as well but will need to sit on parents or carers laps)

Christmas Jumper and Christmas Lunch Day

This year we will be having our traditional Christmas Jumper Day onThursday 16th Decemberthis is the same day as our Christmas Lunch Day. Children can choose to wear a Christmas Jumper all day and get in the festive spirt. This is optional and the rest of our normal uniform needs to still be worn.

To book your child’s Christmas lunch, please click the link in the form emailled to you before Sunday 5th December. (Christmas Lunch costs £2.50 per child for Nursery and £2.80 per child for Junior School Children, unless eligible for Free School Meals. Reception children and Key Stage 1 get a free Christmas Lunch.)

Christmas Visit to the Church

We are currently exploring options for the children to visit the church for a Christmas celebration and some singing. The plan and date for this has not been confirmed however, this year we will not be inviting families to join us. It’s very hard to organise and restrict numbers of adults that may or may not attend and we hope you understand this decision.
