Green Day - Friday 27th May

Green Day - Friday 27th May

We will be having a 'Green day' on Friday 27th May (the last day of term). This is something that Louise organises for the Infants each year and has invited the Juniors to join in this year. The children are invited to come into school in their own clothes wearing something green. Anything green is fine a green t-shirt,  green socks, a green ribbon in their hair. If children would like to donate £1 we will be raising money for each class to adopt an animal from the WWF in the Infants and to donate to a charity of the children's choice in the Juniors. These ideas were chosen by the Infant and Junior children. Please make your donation online through the School Gateway (if you have any problems logging in to the School Gateway, please contact the school office).

Across both schools we will be doing a range of activities that we will share with you in the weekly roundup that week.

After school that day, you are invited to the Infant playground for a plant and seedl

ing swap and to make a family green pledge. We will invite you to write your pledge down on a green leaf and then we will share these with you throughout Term 6 in the weekly roundups.

Donations of plants and seedlings will be gratefully received on the day, and please bring directly to the Infant main office.

FOS (PTA) will be serving refreshments of tea, coffee and squash and there will be a decorate a biscuit stall.

This is always a lovely day that encourages children to think about the environment and the positive part they can play.

Best wishes,

Louise (Eco Schools Coordinator)
