St Saviour's Church Schools

Primary Parliament

Maisie and Finlay, members of School Council, attended B&NES Primary Parliament 2016, held at the impressive, new Somerdale Pavilion in Keynsham. Many other schools attended and the theme was "Free 2 be me". There were debating workshops on themes around looking after oneself, being included, mindfulness and good ways to learn. Maisie and Finlay took part in the Learning Inside/Learning Outside workshop. They had to make a mosaic pattern indoors and then were invited outside to collect items to create another mosaic using natural materials. The results were stunning and the conclusion was that learning outside gave enormous pleasure, happiness, contentment, fun and raised concentration. At the end of the day the pupils gave presentations on what they had achieved during the day. Maisie and Finlay presented their findings along with their new friends and received huge congratulations.
