St Saviour's Church Schools

St Saviour’s Christmas

During the last two weeks of term, St Saviour’s Schools will be celebrating Christmas with a ‘bang’ and in a COVID secure way – see attached poster.

We know Christmas will be different this year. We won't have our traditional Christmas Fair and our family Christmas’ might be a little different.  Just like our birthday celebration plans, we are in a lucky position to be organized in such a way that we can celebrate Christmas together as a class or bubble community.

Sadly, we will not be able to invite families in for these events, but we promise we will take lots of photos and videos of the children and we are sure they will come home with great memories and stories to share with you.

Making a donation to the St Saviour’s Christmas Appeal

Huge thank you to the PTA for supporting this event by covering the additional costs.

The money from our traditional Christmas Fair normally raises over £3000 each year, but unfortunately this will not be happening this year. This money would help the schools pay for fun activities for the children as well as enrichment around the curriculum.

We hope to make Christmas magical for the children this year and the school and the PTA are asking families to make a voluntary donation to our Christmas Appeal instead, we recommend a minimum donation of £5 per child but you can donation as much or as little as you wish.

The money raised will go towards the costs of:

- Christmas fun activities outlined on our poster

- Class birthday parties (as previously communicated)

- Replacing the pirate ship at the infants

- New books for the Junior School library

- other initiatives as funds allow

We know this is an expensive time, at the end of a difficult year, so this is a voluntary donation, and all children will participate in the fun Christmas activities regardless of donations made.

Brilliantly, Lloyds Bank will be matching donations, up to £500 so your donation will go even further!

You can make a voluntary donation via the School Gateway using the payment plan called Christmas PTA Plan 2020.

Christmas cards and gifts

Due to COVID restrictions, this year children will only be allowed to bring in Christmas cards and gifts for the children and staff within their school bubble. Thank you for your understanding.

Christmas Lanterns donated by ArtSeen

ArtSeen (www.artseen.info) have generously donated some lantern kits. Some children will be making the lanterns in school and we also have kits available to take away and be made at home. If you would like a lantern kit please email the office on JuniorEnquiries@stsaviours.bwmat.org

These kits will be distributed on a first come, first served basis.

Christmas Food Parcels

Working with Fareshare we are able to offer food parcels to families for the Christmas holiday. If you need one please self-refer by emailing JuniorEnquiries@stsaviours.bwmat.org

Your email will be treated in the strictest confidence and we will not require you to prove or explain why you need one. We don’t always know when families are struggling but we are always here to help if you are.

BANES free school meals vouchers

We are starting to receive information from BANES about their food vouchers scheme for the Christmas holiday. When we have all the information, we will contact eligible families.

Thank you

Thank you for your help and support towards our Christmas Appeal and for reading this long email.

Keep an eye on our online calendar as we update and finalise our Christmas plans. We will update our website and social media feeds with photos and videos of our Christmas experiences for you to enjoy at home.
