St Saviour's Church Schools

Teacher training day

As the children enjoyed the last day of their Christmas holiday the teachers were at school for a fun packed day of training and reflection.

The day started with Mr Beament leading a workshop on leadership, thinking about how we can enhance the leadership section of our St Saviour's 'Purpose' and how we can all continue to develop as leaders.

We then had a session looking at a presentation by Mary Myatt (educational writer, speaker and adviser) looking at how we can use and bring quality books into our curriculum.

Next we had a session led by Sophie Hunt and Mrs Bauer. They trained staff and lead discussions on our progress towards the Oracy objective on our School Development Plan focusing on how we can continue to support children with their oracy skills across the St Saviour's Schools.

The afternoon session was a combination of Louise Hollaway leading a session on Science looking at the progression of teaching from Nursery to Year 6 and we finished with our English and Maths leadership groups. Continuing the progress of the action plans and thinking about the next steps in these subjects development!

It was a packed day and lots of fun!

All the staff are looking forward to welcome children back to school tomorrow 😁
