St Saviour's Church Schools

Weekly roundup – Infant school

Well, the performances went off in a spectacular fashion. The children did a marvellous job learning and singing all the songs and the children with speaking parts spoke clearly and confidently and we are so proud of them all. There were a couple of bumps in the road (behind the scenes) with absent Mary’s! Well done to Jennifer and Amelia who stepped up to fill the roles at the last minute.

Father Christmas also managed to spare a couple of days to visit us too! The children were so excited, and it was absolutely magical seeing the looks on their faces. The nursery children were so pleased with the gift they received that some children were still clutching their books the next day. A huge thank you to Father Christmas for spending his precious time with us.

Another huge thanks this week goes to the PTA who against all odds pulled off a fantastic Christmas Fair. The lights around the school, the fire and marshmallows in Pauls Garden, the stalls and games all added up to creating a festive and buzzing Christmas fair. I personally loved seeing the children hunting for Christmas characters, singing carols with the band, and playing in the snow!

Amongst all these festivities the children have still been hard at it with their learning. This term the children in Kenya and Zambia class have been becoming our very own MasterChef’s in their science learning. They have been finding out about different food groups and then looked to create recipes for a balanced and healthy diet. They have been busy making their own cupcakes and sandwiches. Thank you for mine - it was delicious!

One last piece of information that’s not festive or linked to learning but is very important.

A polite reminder to not stop or park on the yellow zig zag lines outside the schools. These lines are there for safety reasons and we need to make sure that children can enter and exit the school site safely.

We hope you all have a good rest over the weekend and return Monday ready for the last week of term where we’ll be continuing with the festivities with Christmas Jumper day and Christmas Lunch amongst others.
