Weekly Roundup - Infant School
Move up morning!
Yesterday we had a great morning visiting our new classes. The Year 2 started their day at the Juniors which was both exciting and a little daunting at the same time. Once the children saw Mrs Simmons and Sara they relaxed and had a great time. We welcomed new Reception children to their new classes called Brazil and Chile. The children had fun exploring their classrooms and getting to know their new teachers. It was a Move up morning for Louise Viner, our new Reception teacher of Brazil class. She said, ‘ I had a wonderful time meeting the children and I’m so excited to be with them in September
Current Reception children became France class and Japan class. All children were happy and relaxed and our current Year 1’s stepped up to the mark and became super Year 2’s of Japan and Morocco class.
Although we’re still enjoying our last couple of weeks, we are also super excited for September. Here’s what the children said.
Nursery - Maria, ‘I’ve been in my new class, and I’ve made a mask with feathers. Look!’

Summer fair
Last Saturday, despite the rain, FOSS pulled out all the stops for a fantastic, flower themed summer fair-it was great! There were lots of wonderful stalls (glitter tattoos, arts and crafts, bric a brac and games like beat the goalie) and an amazing BBQ. We had a brilliant performance from the Boogie in Bath dancers but speaking to the children, the highlight seems to have been throwing sponges at Mr Beament in the stocks?! ?? I know everyone had a great time-thank you so much to everyone who made it such a great day.?Click here for some pictures.
Catherine and Lara have had their babies
We want to say a huge congratulations to both Catherine and Lara who welcomed their babies into the world on the same day! Both mums and babies are doing well. Josh is enjoying being a big brother to Oliver and Lara is loving the first throngs of motherhood with baby Elias. We look forward to them visiting us soon and we wish them all the best for these first few months.
Junior Ofsted report!
We also want say a massive congratulations to the Junior Team, Mrs Simmons and Mr Beament for this wonderful report that really does capture the essence of the school’s vision and values for the children.
