St Saviour's Church Schools

Weekly Roundup – Junior School

This week we have been working hard and having lots of fun! We were so impressed to see children doing their own fundraising to support families in Ukraine, demonstrating fantastic empathy and enthusiasm to support others. You can find out more about this here.

Year 3 have been practicing balance and control in yoga with Miss Markwell. See some of their wonderful poses here.

Miss Drake supported some of the children to lead their own assembly this week, and invited governor Emma Nix in to see their work as part of her role in the Ethos committee. Find out more about this, and the other assemblies the Junior children have lead this year here.

A highlight of the week was seeing Year 4 children welcome residents from Larkhall Springs into school as part of their Archie Project. They enjoyed stories from Archie the Scarecrow (also known as Fiona from Reminiscence learning!), and wowed the residents with their wonderful singing of ‘Colourful Archie’. Myself, Mrs Merrett and Ms Birkett were very impressed with the children’s singing. You can see some pictures of this here.

Last week, we were lucky enough to welcome Paralympian Katrina Hart into school. Find out more about this exciting event and see pictures from the day here.

Finally, Year 6 have had a lovely morning today with Mrs Lewis immersing themselves in the artwork of Sir Terry Frost. You can see some of their creations and the coastal influences in their work here.
