St Saviour's Church Schools

Weekly Roundup – Junior School

This week we have been thinking about ‘aspiration’ and ‘inspiration’ – setting challenging goals, and being inspired to do so by others. We talked about some of the people we find inspiring in assembly on Monday – you can find out more here. One of the Year 3 children found examples of aspiration and resilience in their reading book and I loved hearing about this on Tuesday. You can find out more here.

We have also been thinking about improving our Maths skills, and celebrating these as we get better! Louise at the Infants found a really good app that you may like to use to practice basic number skills. You can find out about it here. Also, we are going to be celebrating our excellent mathematicians with a ‘Rockstar of the week’ award, starting next Friday. Children will get to enjoy some exciting props which arrived this week as they celebrate their successes- you can see their first outing here.

Finally, we have been celebrating how we can all help and support each other to learn. Please click here to find more information on being a Dyslexic Learner and to see quotes from children that show the impact of the learning we are doing in this area. This article was also published in the ‘Bath and Wiltshire Parent’ this week, you can read it here.

Don’t forget to subscribe to our online school calendar. Our calendar is the place where you can check for events, term dates and INSET days.

For a window into our school please follow us on social media. We regularly update our Twitter page and Facebook page.

Best wishes,

Mrs Simmon
