Weekly roundup Juniors

Dear Parents and Carers,

Weekly Roundup - Junior School

This week has been another busy week at the Juniors and we are looking forward to half term next week!

Archie Day

On Thursday, Year 3 and 4 celebrated Archie Day. A member of the team from Reminiscence Learning came in and spent the day with the children. Some of the activities they did included singing the Archie Song, taking part in a memories and respect workshop and making felt scarecrows. The children looked fantastic in their costumes and had a great day. Ava said, “It was really fun because we went to Oriel Lodge to meet some residents,” and Iris said, “We did a parade in our costumes!” Lenny said, “I loved that bit.” A huge thank you to Mrs Merrett for organising the day and to the volunteers who supported the children going to the Oriel Lodge (and those who have volunteered to help next term also).  Click here to see pictures of Archie Day.

Swimming Gala

Some of the children in Year 6 took part in the swimming gala at Bath Leisure Centre on Monday. They had a great time, and swam well in their races. Roxy said, “It was really fun because we were racing against other schools,” and Joe said, “It was really good because you could see how good you were at swimming and how good other people were at swimming.” Thank you so much to Mrs Offler and the parents who supported the children at this event.

Forest School

Year 5 had a brilliant time at Forest school yesterday, celebrating the end of term with a campfire where they toasted marshmallows. Other activities including making bird feeders, making elder wood beads, making hammocks and using the slacklines. We were lucky to have beautiful weather too. Click here to see pictures of Year 5 at forest school.

Coming up:

World Book Day: we will be celebrating this in school on Friday 3rd March, and as part of this, would like to invite children to dress up as their favourite book character if they would like to.
