Weekly Roundup - Junior School

 

Welcome back to term 4!

 

We have made a great start to the term. On Tuesday, we had a visit from our Assistant Director of Education in the Trust, Faye Bertham. Faye worked with myself, Sara, Sophie and Mr Beament for the morning, and our Chairs of Governors kindly joined us at the end to hear some feedback. We looked at teaching and learning in the classrooms, and focussed specifically on our provision for all children with SEND. It was lovely to be able to celebrate the provision at the Juniors with Faye, and to hear her positive feedback on the experiences that staff work hard to create for all children in school every day. 

 

Faye said the inclusive approach of the Junior school is a strength, and she can see that the whole school championing this approach. She enjoyed looking at some of our newer learning spaces and seeing these in action! We have created a small study zone, cosy space (called the Nest) and our Gym. We will look forward to sharing photos of these spaces in the coming weeks (there are a few final touches we would like to make). As always, the children’s behaviour for learning was excellent, and it was lovely to share the brilliant working relationships all staff have with pupils. We are very lucky to have such wonderful staff and pupils at St Saviours.

 

Coming up:

World Book Day: we will be celebrating this in school on Friday 3rd March, and as part of this, would like to invite children to dress up as their favourite book character if they would like to. In school, we will be focussing on a selection of books around a theme of kindness.
