Year 6 learn about Armistice Day
Year 6 have been learning about Poppy Day or Armistice Day.
This is a day when we remember those men and women who gave their lives in the Great War (WW1), WW2 and all other wars that have taken place since then, so that we can have the freedoms we enjoy today.
They have been exploring a little of what it was like during WW1, for those on the front line and those left behind, focussing on an unusual and special event that happened on Christmas Day, 1914 (you will see a clue on the screen in the picture). They have been creating explosion books to share all their knowledge.
