    Dear Parents and Carers,

    Weekly Roundup - Junior School

We’ve had snow! It was lovely to wake up on Wednesday to snow, and we had a nice time in school playing in the snow at playtime. Sadly, it had mostly melted by lunchtime, but it was still lovely to have a snowy morning.

    Swimming

Years 3 and 4 have continued with their swimming lessons this week, and have made excellent progress. Mrs Lewis and Mrs Merrett have been so impressed with how many children have learnt to swim this week! Well done Holland class.

  • Weekly round up Infants

    Fri 10 Mar 2023

     Dear Parents and Carers,

    Weekly roundup – Infants

The Governors always play an active part in school life whether it’s behind the scenes or coming in to see first hand what school life is like for our children and staff. On Thursday they came and spoke to children from Reception, Year 1 and Year 2. They were impressed with how the children spoke about the Caring Code, their learning and how they feel safe in school. They even asked them what they would do if they were head for a day. I particularly liked these ideas for rainbow colours in hair, water slides, bring your pets in, and a circus with a Ferris wheel! It conjures a wonderful picture in my head.

Years 1 and 2 were so excited to receive a letter from Wera Hobhouse in an envelope that had House of Commons printed on it. They felt proud that their ideas had been acknowledged and that this experience goes a little way to our children feeling that they have a voice beyond our school. Thank you to our teachers for organising. Click here for photo

Easter Bonnet Parade – Wednesday 29th March 9:10 Infant playground

We are excited to be having an Easter bonnet parade again this year. We gather all the children on the playground and parade around in our Easter, springtime hats and you are welcome to come and watch the parade.

You can design and make your hat at home or FOSS have some lovely kits they would love to sell for a donation.

They are asking for volunteers to help sell hats after school on Monday 20th or Tuesday 21st. If you are able to volunteer, please contact Ellie.

They would also like to run a workshop where the children and their parents could make the hats straight after school. All the resources would be provided. If you are a keen artist or love crafting and would be able to help that would be wonderful, please let Ellie know.

If your child is eligible for Pupil Premium and would like a pack, please ask your child’s class teacher.
