  • Green Team hard at work

    Thu 30 Mar 2023

In term 4 the Green Team met to discuss recycling.

The Recycling champions have been doing a good job and making sure that the paper in the classroom goes into the paper recycling bin and fruit goes into the fruit waste bin. We looked at what else was in the bins and saw lots of white boards pens.

We looked on the internet and found out that teracycle recycle pens at the Rymans shop in Bath.

We have given each class an envelope to collect their used whiteboard pens in so that we can recycle them.

We are also planning a walk to school week. Lyra said 'I walk to school today. My mum said even though we have a car we should walk to school to save the environment. '

A huge well done to these guys! They walked around 20 miles over 2 days, camping overnight at Tedbury Scout camp near Frome as part of their Scout Expedition. Working with their patrols they navigated across country, demonstrating great teamwork as well as good navigation skills!

  • Weekly roundup Junior

    Fri 24 Mar 2023

    Dear Parents and Carers,

    Weekly Roundup - Junior School

This has been a busy week with Dance Umbrella and parents evenings. It has been lovely to welcome so many parents and carers into the school.

    Dance Umbrella

On Monday the children had a fantastic time attending the Dance Umbrella at the Forum. Mrs Offler was so impressed with the children's efforts, attitude and behaviour and they really did make St Saviour's very proud.

"I loved watching the older groups and enjoyed the contemporary style of dancing. It was inspiring to see others dance." Keira

"There were so many different dances to watch. I really enjoyed it and have never taken part before." Delilah

" The older children's dances were amazing.  As soon as I had finished performing our dance, I wanted to do it all over again." Rebecca

"I liked that there was a variety of dancers involved. We were part of the audience and the performance." Max C

Thank you to Mrs Offler and Miss Markwell for supporting the children, and to all the parents and carers involved with transport, costumes, hair and make up.

    Dear Parents and Carers,

    Weekly roundup – Infants

    Dance Umbrella

It’s been a performance week this week. Year 2 and 6 kicked us off on Monday with their spectacular performances at the Forum for Dance Umbrella. It was an amazing night. The children were amazing.  We had smiles on our faces, from beginning to end whether we were rehearsing, waiting back stage, supporting other schools from the audience and the actual performance. The crowd cheered and clapped along, and the children busted their shapes to complicated choreography. A huge thank you to the staff involved, parents and carers who came to help, Hannah B who choreographed and rehearsed the children and to the children themselves who represented St Saviours in such a fantastic way. Frank said, ‘It was awesome!!!’

Sophie said, ‘It was the best thing ever and I loved it!’

    Drama

On Thursday all our children enjoyed a Drama workshop from Performance. Their mission was to cheer up a clown and they danced and acted along to circus music. The children left the workshop buzzing with excitement and all the teachers said how enjoyable it was. Thank you to Claire for organising it for us all. Drama pictures here

Fern said, ‘We had to wiggle our fingers by our ears and stick our tongues out.’

Jason said, ‘The clown kept pointing to a corner and when we got there she said,

‘Why are you there? Go there!’

     ‘It was so funny!’

    Comic Relief

A huge thank you to all the children and to you for supporting them. We raised a whopping £334.91 for Comic Relief.
