  • Weekly roundup – Infant school

    Fri 17 Dec 2021

It’s been another fun filled festive week full of smiling children, crafts, singing and Christmas themed maths and writing.

The Nursery children looked amazing in their Christmas clothes this week. They sang their songs with gusto and joined in with the actions. I am borrowing their rendition of We Wish you a Merry Christmas for my family sing along on Christmas day! Nursery parents can see the singing on Tapestry.

The children always love designing and being creative with Lego but this week they have excelled themselves. Children in Year 2 have created their own Christmas scene out of Lego. They have thought carefully about shape and colour and are proud of their end designs. Throughout the school children have also been busy crafting.

Even though it is such an exciting time the children have still been working hard. Well done to Harry, Sydney, Ivy, Ilona, Otis and Benji who are our Rainbow Hand writers of the term.

I asked Otis what he does to make sure his handwriting is so good and he said, ‘I make sure that I take my time.’

Ivy said, ‘I make sure my writing is sitting on the line.’

  • Weekly Roundup – Junior School

    Fri 17 Dec 2021

This week has been fantastically festive! We started the week with Carols at Church. It was lovely to hear everyone’s singing in the Church. ‘That’s What Christmas Means to Me’ was a particular favourite, and Year 6 loved sitting on the balcony– thank you Rachel and Rob for inviting us down. For pictures of our time at St Saviour’s Church, click here.

Year 4 had a great time sharing some Carols with the residents of Oriel Lodge. It was so wonderful for Year 4 to be able to chat to the residents and bring some Christmas cheer to them, and all the more impressive as it was through Teams rather than in person. You can see pictures and videos of their singing here.

Year 5 put together their very own festive music video during a music lesson with Mr Neale this week. You can see this here – we think the surprises throughout will bring a smile to your face ðŸ˜Š

It’s been snowing this week in Larkhall too! See pictures of this wonderful weather event here and here  - luckily it coincided just in time with pick up both times! ðŸ˜Š

On Thursday, we had our annual Christmas jumper day and Christmas dinner – what a festive celebration! For pictures of all the fun, click here.

Finally, we are sorry to be saying goodbye to Ms Wilson and Mrs Higgs, who are off to start new adventures. We wish them all the best, and thank them for all of their support and help. To find out about our leaving assembly for them, click here.

  • Some goodbyes

    Thu 16 Dec 2021

Today we had a special assembly to say goodbye to Ms Wilson and Mrs Higgs, who will be sadly leaving us at the end of this term. We sang, gave cards and gifts, and said thank you for everything they have both done to help us all during their time at St Saviours.

Mrs Higgs has worked with us since September, supporting children in Year 3 and helping us at lunch times and play times. Alex said, "I will really miss you," and Shanae said, "Mrs Higgs is the best teacher ever. I have enjoyed being with you and I love you and I want to hug you!"

Ms Wilson has worked at the Juniors for 11 years, supporting so many children (and staff!) during her time here. Ava said, "I have loved you since I have met you and we are best friends," and Eleanor said, "Thank you for all of your support and help, we will really miss you." Freddie said thank you for all of Jan's help during wet plays - he particularly liked making paper aeroplanes.

We would like to thank Ms Wilson and Mrs Higgs for their enthusiasm, hard work and support for the St Saviour's community- their help has been so appreciated and we know they have made a hug positive impact on so many children's lives.

We would like to wish Ms Wilson and Mrs Higgs every success in their new adventures - we will miss them both so much.

  • Archie

    Thu 16 Dec 2021

This week, Year 4 have made Archie Christmas cards for the residents of Oriel Lodge and bring some Christmas cheer to the Nursing home.

Yesterday, the children had their first virtual meet up on Teams. Each class sang two Christmas songs to the residents and a few children and residents introduced themselves.

What a wonderful Christmas experience for the children, staff and residents of Oriel Lodge!
