Freddie said ‘If pencils were floppy we couldn’t write’
Sophie said’ If everything was flexible in the classroom we couldn’t sit on chairs they would be all floppy!’

    Dear Parents and Carers,

    Weekly Roundup - Junior School

We hope you had a great half term break.

This week we have had some exiting things happening.

    Year 5 Enterprise

Year 5 children have been working hard on their Enterprise project, where they have designed a small pop-up business and will be selling their products to pupils on Tuesday 13th June during the afternoon.

The children have been having a brilliant time designing, conducting market research and advertising their business.

“We have created a business plan, logo and ideas to make the maximum profit.  We have created products to sell such as bracelets, keychains and drinks.”  Emilia

“This has been good to learn new skills for when we grow up.  We have been learning about managing money and it has shown us that hard work has a reward because we can choose how the class spends the money we earn.  We have had to learn to work as a group and how this is a big part to making a successful business.” Olivia

“We had to think carefully about how to price our products. The maximum amount children can bring in to spend is £3.00. We have made a game which costs 30p to play and you get a prize.” Louis.

“We have all worked so hard and hope you enjoy looking around our stalls.  There will be food, treats, games and crafts to buy.  Please do not worry about when to come because the teachers will tell you.” Alex

All children in the school will be invited to come and see the stalls and make some purchases. The average price of products and games is 50p. Please bring any spending money in a named purse or wallet.

    Spring Cleaning

For the past couple of months, a kind group of volunteers have been working on the Junior Spring Clean, lead by Danielle Ross, Co-Chair of Governors. The work they have done is AMAZING- we cannot thank them enough. Click here to see pictures of the areas they have been working on so far which are now sparkling after a fresh lick of paint! The next project the team will be working on is the hall, starting tomorrow and also on Saturday 24th June. If you would like to help in any way, we would be so grateful. Please contact Danielle Ross directly (Danielle.ross@stsaviours.bwmat.org).

    Congratulations Mrs Jacobs

During the half term, Miss Williams got married and is now Mrs Jacobs  Huge congratulations to Mrs Jacobs and her husband. We hope you enjoyed your celebrations and wish you a happy and healthy future together.

    Our warmest thanks

We would like to take a moment to pause, remember and say thank you to Vicky who sadly passed away last month. Vicky was a wonderful local neighbour who came in weekly and volunteered with the children in Joanna’s class. She helped many children over the years to develop their confidence and love of reading and writing through enabling them to become authors, making their own special story books. Vicky played a valued role in our school community and our thoughts are with her family, friends, and neighbours at this time.
