  • Year 5 Greek Temples

    Tue 12 Dec 2023

Children in Year 5 had a great time building Greek temples inspired their learning at the Holburne Museum and the structure of the Parthenon. Thank you to all Year 5 parents and carers who sent in cardboard!

Mr Carter said: There are pictures of decorated temples with triangular pediments at each end of their temple roofs and a circuit of metopes (pronounced meh-toe-peas) which ring the roof just above the tops of their Doric columns.

  • Bristol Museum Trip for Years 3 and 4

    Wed 06 Dec 2023

Years 3 and 4 had a fantastic time at the Bristol Museum yesterday. They were able to see a number of Ancient Egyptian artifacts up close, and got to complete an exciting workshop too. The children were able to hold genuine ancient Egyptian artefacts and replicas, deciding on what they were used for and who used them.  Using Amelia Edwards' diary, the children explored where these artefacts would have been discovered.

Thank you so much to everyone who volunteered their time to help on this trip and make it so successful.

  • Whole school STEM activity

    Fri 01 Dec 2023

This week, all of the Juniors came together to think about designing a sustainable invention that was useful, required (not just wanted) and would have a positive impact on people and the planet. They presented their ideas at the end of the afternoon; there were some fantastic ones including an Alexa powered wheel chair (complete with umbrella) and a re-generating generator! Well done everyone!
