Love and kindness messages for Ukraine

Today we have shared messages of love and kindness thinking specifically about the situation in Ukraine. Thank you to River in year 5 for this great idea. Click here to see pictures of the Junior and Infant children together sharing their messages. As part of this we would like to collect donations. If you would like to make a donation which would be passed on to UNICEF who are working to support families in Ukraine, please do so via SchoolComms over the Easter break!

  • For Ukraine

    Fri 08 Apr 2022

We have been really impressed with the efforts the children have been independently making to fundraise to support the people of Ukraine, and we decisised to to do something all together as the St Saviour's community.

This week, we would spent a some time in classes across both schools, sharing messages of love and kindness in yellow and blue, that we displayed all together. This lovely idea was suggested by one of the children in Year 5.

As part of this we would like to collect donations. If you would like to make a donation which would be passed on to UNICEF who are working to support families in Ukraine, please do so via SchoolComms over the Easter break!

  • OPAL Platinum Award

    Fri 08 Apr 2022

This week, we had our Infant School OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning) Final Audit and we are delighted to announce that we have been awarded ‘Platinum’ which is the top award available.

This means that both the Infant School and Junior School are PLATINUM OPAL schools.

Your commitment to play was so evident through the lovely, inclusive feeling and happy,ā€Æcalm atmosphere on your playground. You are true advocates for the best quality play experiences’

Rachel Murray (OPAL assessor and mentor)

The scores achieved in the assessment by the Infant School were similar to the Junior School and puts both schools in the top 1% in the country! There are only a group of around 100 schools out of 20,000 in the UK to achieveā€Æthis level and St Saviour's has TWO!

A huge thank you to our Play team, staff, governors and of course the children who make play at St Saviours so amazing.

  • Queenā€™s Green Canopy tree planting

    Fri 08 Apr 2022

As part of the BANES tree planting programme for the Queen’s Green Canopy project and as part of Bath in Bloom’s celebrations for the Queen’s Jubilee, St Saviour’s Infant and Junior Schools have each received two trees.

We have had great fun planting them, and look forward to watching them grow over the years to come.

  • Easter Egg Hunt

    Thu 07 Apr 2022

This afternoon one of our pupils had a lovely Easter Egg hunt as part of her Thrive time!

She had to read the clues to finally find an Easter present hidden in The Den! She read the clues perfectly and loved guessing where the next one would be.

  • Easter painting

    Thu 07 Apr 2022

Year 2 have have been sketching daffodils. They coloured them carefully with watercolour paints and the children thought they would look nice in their Easter cards.

We all agree that they are excellent paintings!

  • Friends of St Saviour'sĀ Easter Smarties Challenge

    Thu 07 Apr 2022

We will be sending a tube of smarties home with each child on Friday. Partly as a little Easter treat and partly as a fundraiser for the school. Inside a tube you can fit £5 worth of 20ps so we’re setting the children a challenge of doing chores at home for 20p and bringing the smarties tube back with them the first week of next term.

We hope you can come up with some fun and exiting chore for your children and see some filled tubes after the holidays!

    Happy Easter

    The FOS team.
